In this post I want to try to build a profile of true maturity as it is reflected in each man's identity (regardless of his particular personality).

I will do my best to build the profile as an inter-dependent set of virtues and traits, rather than just cherry-picking random ideals that don't really fit together.

I will also try to include some practical ways in which men can transition from immaturity toward maturity in each component (key: look for all the underlined words for the "how" - beyond the "what").

So, how does a child think? This is a key insight into helping men identify where, and how we need to mature. Here are three possibilities for initial reflection (perhaps you could think of more).

I want to suggest that there are actually at least five father-influences bearing down upon each man. In this post, I want to give a brief overview of each one, and suggest how the influence of each one can shape and mold each man's concept of true manhood and masculinity.

Over the course of my life, I have discovered that most men struggle with a cluster of problems that are inter-related, and stem from a warped concept of true masculinity.

The "cluster of problems" is essentially the dynamics of the male role in relationships: Husband, Father, Worker, Leader, Friend, Sexual-Partner, Confidant, Provider, Protector, etc.

He was not just a preacher. His message was inseparable from innumerable demonstrations of love, mercy, provision, and care for hurting people. But... was this tied to the same values espoused by socialism? Was Jesus a socialist, or is socialism based on the teachings of Jesus?
