A Bit About Our Pastor & His Wife…  (updated Jan/2012)

Pastor Kenny & MaryJo met each other on the island of Okinawa, Japan in 1991 where Kenny served in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman, and MaryJo served as a full-time missionary with Y.W.A.M.  They were married in December of 1992.

Kenny received Christ in the summer of 1986, at age 17 in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he grew up.  He immediately felt a calling to ministry following his conversion to Christ. 

MaryJo, the daughter of a Pastor and Bible College professor, has served the Lord since her youngest days. 

Both Kenny and MaryJo have received the majority of their training for ministry in the context of the local church, while serving, studying, and ministering to other believers.

MINISTRY DEVELOPMENT & TRAINING
Their first experience in pastoral ministry together came while on Okinawa, where they served as the interim English-Speaking pastors of the Okinawa Korean/American Church’s English Congregation.  They left Okinawa, and after one year, began serving in their second church, Metro Fellowship Assembly of God, where Kenny was  the Associate Pastor of Worship & Christian Education.  In the Fall of 1997,  they were called to Hanford, California, where they ministered for nearly four years at Koinonia Christian Fellowship. Kenny Served as an Associate Pastor & Worship Leader, and MaryJo directed the children’s ministry.  During those four years, they were part of a ministry team that saw the church grow from just over 500 to over 1,100 in attendance.  In September of 2001, they ventured out to pioneer The Oasis Foursquare Church in the City of Hanford, California where they have been serving for over 10 years.

CHILDREN
In July of 2005, Kenny and MaryJo adopted their son, Victor from an orphanage in Belgorod Dneztrovsky, Ukraine.  Victor will turn 10 years old in April, 20012.  You can READ MORE about this in their ADOPTION BLOG.

EDUCATION
Kenny finished his Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in Small Group Ministry at Fresno Pacific University in September of 2007. He has completed several courses in Biblical Studies from Moody Bible Institute, The Berean Institute of the Assemblies of God, and the Christian Leadership School of Theology.  He is a current graduate student at Fresno Pacific Seminary, where he is completing a Masters Degree in New Testament.

MaryJo has completed courses at Christ For The Nations Institute, The YWAM University of The Nations, Eastern New Mexico University, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management and Organizational Development with a Minor in Music Performance from Fresno Pacific University. She earned her Master Degree in Leadership and Organizational Studies from Fresno Pacific University where she also serves as an Assistant Program Director and Adjunct Professor.  She is in her 3rd year of Doctoral Studies toward a Ph.D in Global Ecclesial Leadership from Regent University, in Virginia Beach, VA.
